Staying fit and healthy involves healthy eating and sport or fitness 

Are you eating correctly and doing fitness to stay in shape

We are generally a nation of supporters and not doers  being a supporter is about as close as we get to sport 

By following the game you leave the home  however  being just a TV a fan on the sofa means very little activity at all 

Yet the few sports people that are actually playing the sports have to be super fit  OK but these players are paid to be fit

For most we can only dream of the that type of income  The professional do fitness training every day

Being fit and healthy is more than a decision and it takes work and real dedication

For some of us when we feel like getting fit we might try a gym for a few weeks Even with good intentions most of us do not stick to our new sport and fitness regime

For the non sportsman why not try eating some fresh food

Do most of us eat the things we know we should?  No is the answer  Eating junk food and snacking is very easy

To start eating healthily get some food that does not contain all the modern added extras Eat something without preservatives colouring or artificial flavouring  Fruit is the food to eat

Start by eating some fruit and getting a healthy Recipe book like the Paleo Cookbook

Fruit is cheap to buy and you probably already like the taste 
My favourite fruits are

Apples are a popular fruit and are divided into two types - dessert and cooking Look for dessert apples with flat skins and avoid any with brownish bruises  Try different types like Cox’s Orange Pippin  until you find one you like the best  Ignore cooking apples like Crab apples because they have an acid flesh are more suitable  for jellies and pickles rather than to be eaten fresh

Plums like Gages are round and greenin colour or Damsons which have dark blue to black skins they taste great anytime

Bananas - are normally collected green and shipped in various stages of ripeness with the banana becoming sweeter as it matures Get them in bunches rather than separately when they are golden-yellow and flecked Try to avoid bananas with black spots as these will be damaged or any that have been squashed  For cooking you should select under ripe green bananas as they cut better and will also keep for longer if stored in a cool place
