Of course there are many moments throughout our lives where we want to put on a party of simply find a way to say thank you to a special someone.  Even if there is no occasion at all and you simply want an excuse to invite some friends you will no doubt want to have some drinks on standby.Whether you are looking to host a small gathering or whether you are looking to organise a larger, more formal type of occasion it is important that you cater the drinks appropriately.Here are a few suggestions of different occasions and which drinks to supply for them.

It should go without saying that weddings will need to have excellent drinks catering.These are very special functions which require an exceptional eye for detail in all aspects of the organisational process so it is just as important that the drinks to be served are appropriate.  Not only do the drinks need to be appropriate, they will also need to be served on time.  Welcome drinks need to be served when guests arrive, and champagne needs to be on hand when it is time for the after dinner speeches and toasts.  Weddings are very special occasions and if you are unsure about how to organise the drinks and catering then you would be wise to hire a specialist catering company to take on the job for you.

Most any public event will require some sort of drinks catering.  The size off the function will determine how best to go about supplying drinks and what drinks you are allowed to provide.If you intend to supply alcoholic drinks then you will need an appropriate license as well as the details of what time you are allowed to serve these drinks until.  Again, for larger or more specialist events you may want to hire the services of a catering company.  If you are hosting an outdoor event in a public place then you may wish to consult with the local police to see if there are any regulations which you should be paying close attention to such as what containers you should be serving drinks in.  This will be especially important if you are likely to be serving alcoholic drinks.
